Nafsi Film - Behind the sceen in the rain

The story is about the sensitive topic of surrogacy and infertility issues among women, The production designer of the film Nancy Aluoch Oluoch was inspired by the desert color palette. The desert represents  infertility. Nothing barely ever grows in a desert, and when it does, it is usually near an oasis which is like a symbol of hope and life.  The hope in the film is in surrogacy and other ways women have to bear  children. It also gets very cold at night, so you will get to experience some chilly scenes in the film where design supports different subtexts through use of color and intentional artistic choices.

Nafsi- A Reuben Odanga Film

The director of Nafsi Reuben Odanga wanted the film to feel African in the visual interpretation. The  production design choices by Nancy Aluoch Oluoch leaned towards great use of African prints, hairstyles and skin treatment in terms of makeup for all the cast, celebrating the different shades of melanin. The set design of the film is a contrast of warm and cool tones, use of repetitive prints and patterns with balance of soft and hard textures in the decor pieces. The palette of the film is a consistent desert color palette through out.
