OSCAR NOMINATED

Watu Wote, Swahili meaning All of us is an Oscar Nominated short film under the Live action  short category. It is based on a true story of a bus attack by terrorist that happened in Mandera, Kenya. The production designer, Nancy Aluoch Oluoch helped bring director, Katya Benrath’s vision for this film to life. It had a myriad of challenges but eventually it got recognition and a nod at the 90th Oscars.

After winning Best Narrative Short at BFF 2017, WATU WOTE went on to win a Student Academy Award in the Short Narrative International Category and was later nominated for an Academy Award!
